Two actions, then a list

Everything decided goes in the first two bullets. Everything else is tentative and stays one line each.

Subject: Next steps + what's coming up Hi Daphne, NEXT • You're talking to Olga at Tequilart. • I'll put together a pitch for the cocktail class and send it to Productions WOW — they place team-building activities into companies across Quebec, 10 to 700 people. They'd resell us. Christine Bock · 514 820-9694 · christine@productionswow.com TENTATIVE • Event planners — Eventique Montreal, Sue Ellen Events, EMevents, VIVE Events, Vanou Events. They book all year. • Coworking in Old Port — Crew Collective, Spaces Square Victoria, WeWork St-Antoine, Walter. Each has a community manager who programs member 5 a 7s. • Hotel concierge desks — yours. THREE FESTIVALS • Latin American Heritage Month — all October, starts in 9 days. Their "Gastronomic Route" is a published list of Latin spots people get sent to. 12 places on it, all restaurants, none in Old Port. Free. moisheritagelatinoamericain@gmail.com • Dia de Muertos — 1-2 November. PAAL Partageons le monde runs the city festival. We could be a venue, or run our own and get listed. • Montreal Bachata Festival — 12-15 November, Marriott Chateau Champlain. Thousands of dancers, four nights, all needing an after. The one with a clockThe Gastronomic Route. October starts in nine days and there's no cocktail bar on that list.

02 — The leads

Daphne has this one

Tequilart

Olga Aguirre · first mezcal ambassador in Canada · oldest Mexican-spirits agency in the country

Daphne already knows Olga and is speaking to her today. Nothing for you to do here — don't email in parallel.

Worth knowing anywayOlga is looking for a downtown space for a November tasting event. If it lands, that's a room booked and an agency relationship, not a one-off.

They go to the company. You're the act.

Productions WOW

Christine Bock · 514 820-9694 · corporate events & team building, 10 to 700 people, all of Québec

What mattersThey already sell team building into companies and travel to the client. They don't need your room — they need an activity. That makes you supply, not a competitor.

Next moveOne short email with a per-head number, so she can quote you without calling back.

Subject: Cocktail class as a team-building activity — Old Port bartenders Hi Christine — we spoke earlier. I work at Cantina Concha, a Mexican cocktail bar in Old Port. Two of our bartenders are award-winning. We can bring a hands-on cocktail class to your clients' offices: 90 minutes, each person builds two drinks, all tools and ingredients included, bilingual, zero-proof version at no extra cost. $XX per head, 10 to 40 people. We travel anywhere on the island. We can also host at our room in Old Port if a client prefers that. Happy to run one for your own team first so you can see it. [name] — [phone]

Permit note: off-site means a permis de réunion from the RACJ, filed 15 days ahead. Say yes to the date, then file it.

03 — Tonight's walk

  1. FIRST · 15 MIN

    Write 40 cards by hand

Handwriting outperforms printing here — it reads as a person, not a flyer. Needs one yes from Daphne: a free botana with any cocktail, tonight only.

TONIGHT ONLY Free botana with any cocktail CANTINA CONCHA 21 rue de la Commune E 2 minutes from here — show this card
  2. 4:00 PM · 45 MIN

    Coworking doors, as people leave

This is the exact moment a floor of people decides where to go.

"Free botana tonight at Concha — two minutes that way. Bring your team."

Before you leave each one, ask the front desk "who's your community manager?" and get an email. That's tomorrow's business, collected today for free.

  3. 5:00 PM · 30 MIN

Palais des congrès, as it empties

Anyone with a lanyard. Those crowds are already in drinking mode.

"Free botana tonight — Mexican cantina, fifteen minutes' walk, show the card."
  4. 6:00 PM

    Behind the bar, counting cards

Cards that come back is the only number that matters tonight. Write it down before you close.

04 — Every door, listed

Coworking — Old Port

Highest density in the city: one visit reaches 50+ member companies. Ask for the community manager — programming member socials is literally their job.

There are roughly 10–15 coworking locations in Old Montréal. These four are the biggest. Walk the rest of rue Saint-Jacques and Saint-Antoine when you've done them.

"I work at Cantina Concha, two minutes from here. We host 5 à 7s for teams — no room fee, and I throw in a free cocktail demo. Can I leave my info for next time your members want something?"

Hotel concierge desks

Eight of them within a ten-minute walk · Auberge du Vieux-Port, William Gray, Nelligan, Place d'Armes, LHotel, Le St-James, Epik, Gault

Not yours. Daphne's doing the hotels herself — it's the bar's face at those desks. Leave it alone.

Event planners — DM or email

Planners buy repeatedly. A bride buys once. These five are worth more than fifty consumers.

Hi — bartender at Cantina Concha, Old Port. We do private cocktail classes and bar service for events. $65/head classes, $75/hr bar. Award-winning bartenders. Here if you ever need someone.

Find more: search #MariageMontreal and #MontrealWeddingPlanner, take whoever posted this month.

Palais des congrès — 1.4 km away

It publishes its full event calendar publicly — 231 events. That is a free, dated list of every group in town with a budget and nowhere to go at night.

The site only renders the next fortnight at a time, so go filter it to November and December yourself — that's where the Christmas-party groups are. congresmtl.com/en/events-calendar

The better way in is the DMC layer — the firms conference organisers pay to build the delegate evening programme. Getting on three lists sells for you permanently: A-DMC Global Montréal, Unique World Global, aVenue Event Group, and register at DMCFinder.

Latin American Heritage Month — the Gastronomic Route

What it actually isMontréal runs a Latin American Heritage Month every October. Inside it, the Gastronomic Route is a published list of Latin food and drink spots that visitors are pointed to for the month — presented as "a Latin tour of Montréal." It's a free directory plus the promotion that rides on it, not a paid festival stand.

Who's on it nowTwelve places, and they are essentially all kitchens: Saltenas & Cunapes, Saveur Colombien, Ola Latina, La Cecilia, El Rayo del Taco, Solymar, Los Planes Gourmet, Bistro Bocadillo, Restaurant Cabanas and a few more.

Why that mattersThere is no Old Port cocktail bar on that list. A Mexican cantina with a real agave program would be the only drinks destination on a route made of restaurants — and the only one a tourist staying in Old Montréal can walk to.

The catchThey publish no mechanics — no fee, no deadline, no form. So you just ask. One email, today, because October starts in nine days.

Subject: Adding an Old Port cantina to the Gastronomic Route Hello — we're Cantina Concha, a Mexican cantina at 21 rue de la Commune Est in Old Montréal. Coffee bar by day, agave cocktails and DJs at night. We'd like to take part in the Gastronomic Route for October. Looking at the current list, we'd be the only cocktail destination on it, and the only stop inside the Old Port tourist walk. What do you need from us, and is there still time for this year? [name] — [phone]
1–2 November · the big one

Día de Muertos

The single biggest night of the year for a Mexican cantina, and the one where your identity isn't a theme — it's the reason people pick you over a bar that put up marigolds.

Who runs the city's versionPAAL Partageons le monde organises Montréal's Día de Muertos festival. The Mexican Consulate builds a commemorative altar every year. Espacio Mexico and the MEM — Centre de mémoires montréalaises are recurring partners.

Two ways inBe an official venue or partner on the festival's programme — or run your own night and get it listed on theirs. The second is easier and you control it.

Do it nowSix weeks out is already late for a festival programme. This is an email today, not in October.

"We're a Mexican cantina in Old Port. Can we be a venue or a partner for Día de Muertos this year?"
12–15 November · you have a dance floor

Montréal Bachata Festival

8th edition · Montréal Marriott Château Champlain, 1050 De La Gauchetière O · four days

Thousands of Latin dancers in town for four days, every one of them looking for somewhere to go after the workshops end. Festival hotels empty into the city late.

The offerOfficial afterparty venue, or just a named late-night Latin night on their programme. You have the room, the music and the drinks already — this is an asking problem, not a building problem.

Also worth knowing: the Montréal Salsa Convention (21st edition, 14–17 May 2027, DoubleTree Hilton) draws 5,000+ dancers. Too far out to act on, close enough to plan for.
